Hello there! My name is Katie, I am a 24-year-old located in the Midwest. My whole life I have been fascinated, in love with, and enthralled by horses. Thankfully my parents and other members of my community were willing to indulge this love, and I was able to spend most of my life with horses. My background lies in French classical dressage, however, my true passion lies in combining training methods with mental health and healing practices. I have spent most of my life in various therapy spaces, and while I am not a mental health professional I believe in advocating for, and educating others, on the topics of mental health.

Valaria KDW, otherwise known as Val or Aria is a beautiful 14-year-old Andalusian (PRE) mare. She is owned by my “bonus mom” and has been my main partner in healing. She came to our farm at around 10 months old and was bred once. She was then sold to a competition dressage barn out east, where she lived for 3 years. After competing successfully up through second-level dressage Valaria useful linkfind this experienced extreme burnout as a result of modern training practices. Her trainer deemed her dangerous and no longer wanted her, a label she did not deserve. She was returned to our farm within weeks of my own return from France and has been learning to relax and enjoy life as a horse again.

Meet Beau, aka EverydaysaHoliday my 4-year-old off the track Thoroughbred.   He came into my life in July of 2020, rather unexpectedly.  I was slowly putting out feelers for a horse of my own when my bonus mom called me one day, saying she’d found the perfect guy for me.  We drove down to Kentucky to see him and well… the rest is history.  Funnily enough, he has the exact same birthday as my child horse, who was also an OTTB.  Since then he has traveled to California, Idaho, and back to Ohio with me. He is working on his education with  Classical Dressage principles, as well as liberty training.
